    Apple Ordered to Pay Masimo $634 Million in Apple Watch Patent Dispute

    Apple and Masimo’s long-running dispute over blood oxygen technology in the Apple Watch has escalated after a US jury ordered Apple to pay Masimo $634 million (roughly Rs. 5,618 crore) for patent infringement. Masimo welcomed the verdict, while Apple argued that most of Masimo’s patent claims had been invalidated and noted that the patent in question had already expired. The conflict previously led to a US sales ban on certain Apple Watch models, prompting Apple to introduce a software workaround. Masimo is now challenging that workaround in a separate lawsuit.
