    CNAP Testing Begins in Phases: What is it, How Does it Work

    The Indian government has reportedly started testing the Caller Name Presentation (CNAP) feature in select cities. Soon, users will start seeing the names on the Aadhaar card of a linked phone number. TRAI has created a dedicated database, which is accessible to telecom service providers in India. It carries the names, entered against the telephone numbers of people. It aims to help in curbing spam calls. While it is similar to Truecaller in function, CNAP does not require users to download a standalone app.
