At the NDTV World Summit, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted India's rapid progress in the semiconductor sector. He explained that since the launch of the government program in January 2022, two units have started production, with 10 more under construction. India is now designing 2-nanometer chips, among the most advanced in the world, and 20% of global chip design engineers are based in India. He emphasized the focus on talent development, with 295 university students working on cutting-edge EDA tools, and showcased India's first "Made in India" wafer.
